Italy is a European country that has a great number of amazing amusement parks and gives you the opportunity to choose. You will never regret visiting any place you chose to visit in Italy as long as you are ready to take on the beautiful views and adventures that awaits you. I will be outlining a detailed list of the best parks you can visit while in Italy.
Gardaland Park (Castelnuovo del Garda): this place will always be the first thing that comes to people’s mind when the word “park” is mentioned in Italy. The park has been ranked the fifth top amusement parks in the world as at 2005, by the Forbes Magazine, in 2011, it dropped to the eighth in Europe. It has a total of 32rides, which includes seven roller coasters and three water rides. The rides are divided into three groups: the adrenaline, the adventure and the fantasy which is majorly for children. The park currently has six roller coasters which are: The Blue Tornado, Magic Mountain, Mammut, Magic Mountain, The Sequoia Adventure and the Oblivion (The Black Hole and Raptor).
Mirabilandia: another interesting park to be in Italy is this place popularly referred to as “the heart of fun”. It has an area of about 30 hectares, with an additional water world area of 10 hectares known as the Mirabilandia Beach. The Katun inverted roller coaster and the iSpeed launched coaster are the most popular attractions of the park. The park also possesses the world’s tallest water coaster which is 60 meters high. The park is also divided into three groups: the Extreme, Moderate and the Soft, and it also have 5 different themed areas which are:
- Far West Valley (dedicated to the Old west)
- Bimbopoli (dedicated to the children)
- Route 66
- Adventureland (for addicts)
- Dinoland (dedicated to the Jurassic World)
Movieland Park Studios: this is the first amusement park in Italy, dedicated to the world of old movies which was inspired with American Universal Studios theme parks. The major attractions in this great park according to www.dievole.it/en/blog/Italy-nature are:
- John Rambo Stunt Show
- Police Academy roller coaster
- Tomb Raider Horror House (very creepy!)
Zoosafari Fasanolandia (fasano): the inclusion of both zoo and amusement theme park makes this park a particular one to visit. It has a drive-through safari park which enables you to visit with your own vehicle as well as talk a walk around the animal areas. Opened in 1973, the park includes the only male African Elephant in Italy.
Etnaland (Belpasso): finally, on this list, is Etnaland which is located in Sicily near Belpasso. Its total area is about 280,000 square meters, of which 112,500 occupied only by mechanical park. It is the largest amusement park in South Italy. Divided into two sections: the purely recreational aquapark and theme park, to the educational prehistorical Park.
